My First Hand-Painted Backdrop

A couple of weeks ago I completed my first project of the summer.  It was one of the easier projects I have planned but certainly worth the time and effort. After a trip to the local Walmart, a $24 investment, and 1 hour of labor I had created my own masterpiece. Prices and supplies included a $10 6x9 canvas drop cloth, $10 can of chalkboard paint, leftover paint from a previous house project, and $4 for a new paint roller. I tested my new backdrop by photographing my family during the Memorial Day holiday. Here are a few shots from the weekend. These were taken using natural light from a nearby door.
